All are welcome and encouraged to consider serving! BOARD POSITIONS BLOSSOM SCHOLARSHIP Coordinate and organize senior students interested in teaching to participate in the PTA Blossom Scholarship. Arrange campus level interviews. Act as campus liaison to student selected as honoree. COUNCIL DELEGATE/ALTERNATE Attend the Northeast Council of PTAs meetings, when Council Delegate is not able to attend. The meetings are for you to relay the latest district information to the local unit. (The six meetings are at 9:30 a.m. unless notify of different times and they are held at Piper-Bass Student Center) LIFE MEMBERSHI P I FOUNDERS DAY Distribute life membership nomination forms, coordinate selection committee, and submit paperwork to the Texas State PTA. Arrange for award presentation and details regarding District presentation. USED BOOK SALE North East Council of PTAs holds an annual Used Book Sale open to the public as a Council-sponsored fundraiser/community service project. This Book Sale will benefit the local units, Council, the NEISD community and the city of San Antonio by offering books at a very low price, thus promoting literacy in the home. We organize a committee and start collecting books for this event. AD HOC COMMITTEES LEGISLATIVE Promote report and encourage involvement in legislative issues that involve education and especially high school testing and graduation requirements.
